La Vierge aux Anges reproduction

There are so many problems with taking on a Bouguereau reproduction I was hesitant to do it. But... I do love William's paintings. Firstly I chose color pencil for the time factor, also did it much smaller than his original work. Capturing the figures perfectly with light table is easy enough, getting close to the subtle tonal and color shifts that made this man one of the greatest painters to have ever walked the planet. Well..... That is a different ball game. Sadly... I failed completely and to my eye this is a piece of crap. I guess it is hopeful that I see all the errors so I still have a huge amount of room for growth. The person I did it for? Loved it!! So... All is well that ends well.
